Kala - Unicorn Fish

Hawaiian Kala or Blue Spine Kala is also known as the Unicorn Fish, famous for its various length horn and sometimes incorrectly called a Pinocchio Fish. Kala fish can live up to 50 years and means "to let go". For this reason, Hawaiian's used this fish in Ho'oponopono ceremony, which is about forgiveness and reconciliation, something we could all use a bit more of.

While Kala is not endangered, it is prone to overfishing. Consider leaving Kala in the water to enjoy and instead, catch a handmade Kala wall sculpture and practice Ho'oponopono every day.
